The first Batman game for Game Boy was entitled Batman: Return of the Joker. Sunsoft produced this version in 1991. It was soon followed by Batman: The Animated Series video game, which was created by Konami for this same game console.

When the PlayStation was introduced, Batman games were designed for it too. Three games were developed for the earliest PlayStation and four for both PlayStation II and III. Batman games turned so popular that every major game console like GameCube, Xbox, Nintendo DS, Wii, and others have good Batman games to boot.

When it comes to popularity, Batman share equal footing with Superman and probably, Marvel’s Spider Man. These three superheroes are indeed the ones that made the biggest impact in comic book history.
